We compliment those creative entrepreneurs who have re-invented themselves during these days of social distancing. They have found ways to provide virtual escapes, and bring us together to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Lindsay and Gabriel’s Food and Wine Events turned our Saturday at-home date night into a truly memorable evening. It was wonderful to invite them into our home as we spent two hours together, enjoying preparing our meal just as much as eating and drinking.

Gabriel started us with a crisp, sparkling wine that set a festive mood.

Our menu consisted of homemade Gnocchi pasta with a simple marinara sauce. Chef Lindsay gave us so many great choices it was really difficult to narrow down our final choice. Some of the other popular classes that tempted us include:
– Baked Lemony Salmon w/ Roasted Potatoes, & Braised Parmesan Brussels Sprouts 
– Chicken or Beef Empanadas w/ Chimichurri Sauce
– Artisan Pizza or Calzone Class 
– Pan Seared Scallop Risotto w/ Roasted Asparagus…and more!

We settled on homemade Gnocchi and Marinara to enjoy the experience of making the soft, delicate delights from scratch and marvel at the sheer simplicity of just a few ingredients combining to a spectacular dish.

The evening took us back to meals we enjoyed in Italy. We were soon swapping stories of incredible culinary adventures in Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Florence and Bologna. It is truly amazing how our senses can instantly conjure those special memories.

The pasta making process itself went to the next level of sensory fun with Gabriel’s choice of a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc (we won’t give away the exact details that would spoil the surprise). When the gnocchi was finally plated and presented he capped things off with a robust Barolo that was absolutely perfect. The results: beautiful and delicious.
